无谷牛肉和香肠肉饼is something I came up with a few years ago when I wanted a meatloaf recipe that didn’t use breadcrumbs or oatmeal. I tried a few experiments and ended up with this tasty meatloaf with ground beef, Italian sausage, drained and chopped canned tomatoes, dried herbs, and flax seed meal instead of bread crumbs to bind it together.

  1. 我曾经用过这个slow roasted tomatoes那but they’re high in carbs so now I’d use well-drained and chopped canned tomatoes.
  2. Take the Italian Sausage and ground beef out of the packages and put them in a bowl to start to come to room temperature.
  3. I used dry seasonings so they could help hold the meatloaf together. On top of the sausage and ground beef putDried Onion(附属链接),Garlic Powder(附属链接),Dried Basil(附属链接),Dried Parsley(附属链接),salt,ground fennel(附属链接),and亚麻籽粉(联盟链接)。
  4. Use your clean hands to gently combine the mixture. (Don’t overmix.)

  8. If you don’t have an Instant-Read Thermometer, you can cut one meatloaf open to see if it’s done.

  2. Have you ever tried grinding your own flaxseeds? I use a small coffee grinder to grind just the amount of flaxseed meal that I need. Once the flaxseeds are ground, they start to lose their nutrients so it's best to use it immediately.

  3. The ground beef I use is about as lean as ground turkey, so I don't think the dryness would be much of an issue. I can't say how the flavor will be without the beef because I've never made it that way.

  8. Finally found the flax seed meal in store #4! Nothing at SuperWalmart, Neighborhood Market, or Reasors…but today I finally found it at SuperTarget! (Good thing since this meatloaf was on the menu for tonight!) I'm not telling anybody there was flax see meal in it, but you really couldn't taste it anyway. The kids enjoyed it, but my hubby & I enjoyed it even more! Hubby topped it with your tzatziki (because everything tastes good with tzatziki)and I topped it with a little dijon mustard. Mmmmm…another wonderful recipe from you!
